Children of God
Case Farms version
The workers at Case Farms are taking a stand. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD.
Justice and dignity is our demand. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD.
We are not cattle, we are not machines. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD.
We want the respect due to all human beings. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD.
CHORUS: Children of God, rays of God’s light,
Each one a spark in a fire divine,
We’re all a part of the river of life,
We are all children of God, yes, we are all children of God.
We work at the Case Poultry Processing Plant. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD.
They house us in shacks and they work us like ants. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD.
Starvation wages are all that they pay. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD.
The speed of the line takes it toll ev’ry day. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD.
CHORUS
They brought in Latinos and drove out the blacks. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD
They thought we’d surrender and never fight back. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD
So you can imagine their shock and surprise. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD.
When we walked out the door and we unionized. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD.
Now you may be homeless, you may be rich
You may run a fac’try, or dig in a ditch.
You may be unknown, you may have great fame,
But still in God’s eyes we are valued the same.
The workers at Case Farms will never give in. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD.
Tell Wilson and Shelton, we’ll fight till we win. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD.
One morning they’ll wake up and open their eyes. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD.
They’ll look in our faces and they’ll realize. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD.
