Everybody Counts
Martin Luther King dreamed of a promised land,
Where we’d be free at last and we would judge a man
By what was in his heart and not his bank account
And everyone would know that everybody counts.
CHORUS Where everybody counts and everyone has worth,
Every human soul all around the earth,
Where everybody shares and no one’s left out,
Where everyone cares and everyone counts.
They gunned Martin down and took his life away.
Evil scored a win and hatred won the day,
But we will not forget what he was all about,
And we will build a world where everybody counts.
CHORUS
This world’s grown hard and cold, fear and greed abound.
The hopes that Martin held are being beaten down,
But keep the dream alive and let there be no doubt,
We’ll live to see a time when everybody counts.
When everybody counts and everyone has worth,
Every human soul all around the earth,
When everybody shares and no one’s left out,
When everyone cares and everyone counts.
When everybody counts and everyone has worth,
Every human soul all around the earth,
When everybody shares and no one’s left out,
When everybody cares and everybody counts.
